Privacy Policy

The short version: Budgsy works fully offline by default. If you create an account, your expenses, bills, transactions, and splits sync securely to our cloud database so you can access them across devices. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

You can use Budgsy entirely without an account — in that mode, everything you enter (expenses, bills, transactions, split data) is stored only on your device and never leaves it.

3. Sharing splits via a link

If you use Budgsy's "Share split" feature, that split's details (expenses, member names, settlement amounts) become accessible to anyone who has the link, without needing a Budgsy account. Only share split links with people you trust to see that information.

5. Local notifications

Budgsy uses your device's local notification system to deliver bill reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any communication with our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

6. In-app purchases and subscriptions

Budgsy offers optional paid subscriptions processed through Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and managed via RevenueCat for entitlement validation. We do not have access to your payment card information. All billing, subscription management, and cancellation is handled directly by Apple or Google under their respective terms and privacy policies. Your subscription status is tied to your device/App Store account, not to your Budgsy account.

7. Children's privacy

Budgsy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@budgsy.com and we will promptly delete it.

8. Data security

Data stored only on your device depends on your device's own security settings — we recommend using a device PIN, Face ID, or Touch ID. Data synced to our cloud database is protected using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and access is restricted to your own account via row-level security — no other user, including us, can read your synced financial data through the app.

9. Your rights

If you've never created an account, you can exercise all data rights yourself by uninstalling the app or clearing app data — nothing of yours exists on our servers.

If you have an account, you can permanently delete it — along with all synced data — at any time from within the app (Profile → Danger Zone → Delete account). This is irreversible. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription, which is billed independently through Apple or Google and must be cancelled separately through your device's subscription settings.

For any data you've provided to us directly (e.g. via email), you may request access or deletion by emailing hello@budgsy.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will notify users via an in-app notice. Continued use of Budgsy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
